This replacement part is the filter that goes inside the holder where the coffee is placed. Sometimes the holes that filter the coffee become clogged or deformed, and the device may not produce coffee, breakdowns may occur in the pump (which is required by excess pressure), or coffee may even come out, but without the desired cream. This filter is 2 cups.
