When a solenoid valve breaks down, our iron can continuously steam or, conversely, not steam at all. The boiler opening valve does not obey our orders as usual.

How to repair an ironing center Skin. In this case, the iron does not steam, we are going to replace the boiler solenoid valve and the iron switch.
tutorial for repair Polti Vaporella 535, (valid for Vaporella 505, 515, 525): repair the breakdowns of your electrical appliances step by step and easily.

Necessary material:

  • tester the polymer
  • Star screwdriver
  • 8/9 spanner
  • Fixed wrench 14/15

There solenoid valve for ironing centers.com the part that is activated in the part of the boiler when the steam button of the iron is activated. In another way: we give the order on the iron by pressing the button, and this order is transmitted through the tube to an electromechanical part that opens the boiler momentarily.

A fault in the solenoid valve can come from its mechanical part (a blockage of the valve, which, although it receives the electrical command, does not respond adequately to it) or of the electrical part (the electric coil that activates the valve receives activation, but does not execute it).

It is likely that if the steam micro switch works correctly (it can usually be verified simply by its sound when activated: click!, click!), but no steam comes out of the iron: the fault is in the solenoid valve of the ironing center.

disassembly

  • disassemble casing lower boiler of the ironing center: You must remove 5 screws (star) that are in the lower casing.
  • There solenoid valve It is the part that is located in the upper part of the boiler: it is made up of a fitting with a valve and an electrical coil that activates the valve when the microswitch of the iron is pressed (the "steam button", come on).
  • check with a polymer or tester the continuity of the solenoid valve coil. Selecting the Ohms position on the tester, each terminal of the tester is placed on one of the coil terminals, if the piece is not cut it should indicate "0" on its screen, however, if the coil has an electrical problem, there will be no variation when placed on the terminals.
  • To change the solenoid valve (link).com It is necessary to use an 8/9 spanner to loosen it from its housing in the boiler.
  • It is recommended to use a specific joint sealant (link) so that there are no leaks in the union thread, the sealant is applied to the solenoid valve thread, when the sealant heats up it will finish making a perfect joint.

Mounting

  • The solenoid valve back into place with the key.

* You can also only change the coil of the solenoid valve by loosening it with a 14 spanner, but it is not recommended to change only this part, since the problem may persist, since the mechanical part of the valve may continue to show a fault.

  • They change the coil wires old to the new (the position of the poles does not influence the operation)
  • They turn to place the screws of the lower case.

If there is no other fault in the iron (problems in the microswitch, or a fault in the monotube that connects the iron to the boiler in the ironing center), we can verify that, by pressing the steam button on the iron, it activates the solenoid valve (and it makes a characteristic noise, a click in the boiler every time it is pressed: clack! clack!).

Check that, when the boiler heats up, steam comes out normally.
