Repair Krups Nespresso Essenza XN2003 coffee machine

"My Nespresso Essenza coffee machine spills water out of the brewer"

.

One of the most common malfunctions of Krups Nespresso Essenza (XN2003) coffee makers is piston wear. The piston is the part where we place the capsule, it is the spare part responsible for "puncturing" the capsule and introducing water at high pressure. When the Nespresso piston repeatedly performs this puncturing and injection process, it ends up wearing out this main part of the coffee maker. The coffee, due to the wear of this spare part, in addition to coming out with less pressure through the normal outlet of the appliance, comes out through the part of the capsule collection box.

* Although this failure is the result of normal wear of the part, the process can be accelerated if non-original capsules are used with a plastic cap instead of aluminum; since this type of cap forces a higher pressure from the piston of the coffee maker.

In this tutorial, we are going to teach you how to change the piston of the Nespresso coffee machine that has become your faithful companion for years.

  • .
  • To separate the piston from the rest of the brewer, separate it from the coffee outlet nipple, which is attached to the piston
  • .
  • Lever the side tabs of the coffee spout with a flat screwdriver (due to heat and continued use, this part can break when handled)
  • .
  • Separate the feed tube from the piston, with the help of the flat screwdriver, the clamp clamp, just pull it out.

*The tube gasket always remains inside the piston, although it is not part of the piston. It must be removed from inside the hole where the tube is inserted and placed on the end.

All that remains is to replace the piston with a new one and.... we perform the same steps in reverse order

.

Assembly

  • Place the tube (with the gasket on the end) in the piston bore
  • .
  • Place the clamp (held in place with needle nose pliers and pressed in
  • ).
  • Place pistonin place and press the coffee spout until it "clacks"
  • .

* To fit the coffee spout nose, pull the piston back a little, fit the part and snap the piston back into place.

  • Fit the two front screws of the piston
  • .
  • Fit the upper cover with its screws
  • .
  • Fit the side covers of the coffee maker
  • Fit the top cover with its screws
  • .
  • Tighten the 4 screws of the lower housing of the Nespresso
  • .
  • Fit the driving lever (remember, they are the only two different screws, Torx 20)
