Dolce Gusto Oblo (Krups) coffee maker repair: MY COFFEE MACHINE DOES NOT START!

"From one day to the next my coffee maker does not turn on." Today we are going to carry out the most usual repair of Krups Dolce Gusto Oblo coffee makers: the change of the switch.

.

Sometimes, the coffee maker, from one day to the next, stops turning on. When we press the switch normally, we see that the light that shows the heating process of the Dolce Gusto coffee maker does not flash red at first. And, suddenly, the drama: "no coffee today."

Suddenly, the drama: "no coffee today"

Suddenly, the drama is over.

On a large number of occasions, this problem is due to the fact that the switch of the appliance is not activating the power input to the electronic circuit of the Krups Oblo coffee maker. Sometimes, we can even notice that the resistance of the switch to the touch has changed slightly: this is a case of wear of the electronic mechanism that turns on the coffee maker. Therefore, if nothing is turned on, nothing works.

If nothing is turned on, nothing works.

* It can sometimes be mistaken for a malfunction of the electronic circuit of the coffee maker, since this is the spare part that regulates all the functions of the appliance. On many occasions, replacing the switch on the coffee maker solves the ignition problem.

Disassembly

  • Remove the tank, the capsule holder and the trays from the coffee machine, so that there are no moving parts that could hinder the repair.
  • Remove the two screws (torx 10) (these two screws are different from all the others, they are shorter, keep them identified for the moment of assembly) of the upper housing. These screws are at the top-rear, removing the tank of the coffee maker.
  • Lever with the flat screwdriver to separate the upper housing
  • .
  • Remove the screws that secure the side housing of the coffee maker (upper rear).
  • Remove the screws that secure the side housing of the coffee maker (upper rear).
  • Remove the two clamps next to the previous screws.
  • Remove the two clamps next to the previous screws.
  • Finish removing the side housings by prying with the flat screwdriver on the back of the housings, lift the remaining fastening clips built into the housing one by one.
  • Screws.
  • Cut nylon clamp that holds the switch wiring.
  • Separate the switch from the electronic board of the coffee maker: Two electrical connectors: one 2-pin and one 3-pin (you can't lose it!)
  • Split the switch from the electronic board of the coffee maker.
  • Separate the switch from the upper housing: 3 screws
  • .

Assembly

.

.

  • To assemble the new switch, the following steps must be carried out in reverse:
  • Connect the 2-pin and 3-pin wires to the electronic module of the coffee maker: we can do the function test at this point to check that the rest of the device works correctly
  • .
  • Mounting the switch on the upper housing are the 3 screws
  • .
  • Fit side housing, this process is somewhat laborious, as you have to match the plastic clips with their place on the body of the coffee maker
  • .
  • Fasten the top screws (at the rear) of the housing
  • .
  • Fit case/top cover
  • .
  • Fasten rear screws (short) that are located on the top of the tank
  • .

... And that's it. This is a simple repair, although somewhat cumbersome in the assembly of the housings, which have to fit perfectly.
