How to change the oven rubber

Repair your oven. Replace the rubber

The oven is increasingly one of the protagonists of the kitchen. Its growing presence in the home coincides with the new interest in reposterie, in healthier cooking, or in the return to traditional dishes.

In any case, it should be noted that one of the main wear parts of ovens is the door gasket. This door gasket is a part that, simply because of use, sooner or later we will have to replace. Thanks to a correct maintenance, we will achieve:

  • Save energy in the use of the appliance.
  • Save energy in the use of the appliance.
  • Avoid damage to the exterior of the oven and kitchen cabinets due to heat and moisture output.
  • Avoid odors and moisture in the kitchen.

On almost all oven models from Balay, Lynx, Siemens, Bosch, Teka, Fagor, Edesa, Aspes... the door rubber comes simply supported by hooks. These go in the corners of the rectangle of the door's closing hole. Just twist to unhook the old rubber and do the reverse motion to put it back on.

Only some Zanussi, Electrolux or Miele models use other, somewhat more complex systems, but in any case this oven malfunction is easily repairable.

It is important to choose well the door seal you want, each model has different measures and hooks, it is best to look at the sticker on the side of the door and look for the model or descriptive code of the brand.

Once the change is made.... ! the appliance is ready to go back to making miles !

We hope we have been helpful and that if you have any questions you can leave your questions in the comments.

Thanks and see you in the next post.
